Emily lost her mom and life was not the same again to her. She suffered silent abuse by her stepfather. He raped her several times at night. She feared that this man could kill her if he found her and decided to move to the street and survive there. Frankline undergone child labor and continue assault. He lost both his parents three years ago. His dad died and it took only five months to also loss his mother. Both parents died of AIDS . He was taken in by his late parents neighbor who abused him. He would beat him when Frankline is sick and can't go out to carry for people water a distance of half a mile to be paid money and give him to buy alcohol. When the evil neighbor is drunk, he threatens him several times that he will stab him with a knife because he is not bringing for him a lot of money for alcohol. Born in the street by street mother and Father. The father was murdered .The mother had mental illness and has not been seen for the passed three years. It is believed she died and maybe swept away by river in Soweto. She was staying in the street with a lady who is also under the influence of drugs and couldn't care for her. This lady would give Terry alcohol so that she would sleep and stop disturbing her. He was poisoned to die because his step uncle thought he was not working hard enough to collect more used plastic bottles to sell and get money. His uncle told him he is a burden and good for nothing. Born is lucky to be alive, he was vomiting and was given raw eggs take which helped him to neutralize the poison. Lucy suffered rejection and humiliation after losing her mom. She was raised by a street mother who never knew her father. When the mother passed away the rejection by people, she thought was close to her continued. She was called outcasts and had bad luck. Whenever her aunt went to look for manual work and no success, she would come and beat her, saying she is the reason for her lacking the job. She moved to the street for peace, but it wasn't peaceful. Struggling for food and continued abuse by some street boys followed her. Before rescued from the street Austine suffered child abuse. After losing his parents he stayed unknowingly with a man who was a thief and murderer. This man wanted to introduce Austine to stealing. He would beat him for failing to follow his instructions. He never wanted Austine to pray. He threatened to murder him if he continues to pray because this was making his mission of stealing failed. Mid this year, this evil man was lynched to death after snatching someone phone. Austine moved to the street and told us that he would pray for his friend in the streets when they are sick. He once dreamt of their rescue while sleeping in the cold street of Soweto. Austin is safe and has found a place where he can worship and praise God at the orphanage without victimization. Casim moved to the street before losing his mother. His mother used to clean people's clothes to earn money to feed Casim . She become very sick and couldn't provide food for him. Yvonne was assaulted sexually several times by the husband to her aunt whom she was staying with after losing her mother and father. The aunty confronted the man and he beat her to death and escaped from being attacked by the community. Yvonne had no option but to move to the street for survival. She has been sick in the street complaining of chest pain . Her feet was also infected by jiggers and she found it difficult to walk long distance searching for food in the garbage. Charles suffered child abuse. He was assaulted physically by a relative he was staying with after losing both parents. Charles was forced to work as a water vendor. Walking half a mile away carrying 100 litres of water a day for money which was collected by the relative. Due to heavy loads, he developed chest pain and couldn't work anymore. The relative chased him away. He moved to the street to look for food. He was struggling to stay in the streets because of the pain from his chest. He wanted to take his life by throwing himself into River Soweto when it overflows during the storm in the month of November, but we rescued him. He is happy at the orphanage and can afford a smile. Wycliffe was raised by a street mother who was a drug addict. She passed away last year. Wycliffe informed us that he didn't want to continue staying in street and be involved in drugs. He was being forced to take marijuana and when he ran away the bad boys in the street beat him. These bad boys never wanted him close to the garbage where he picked food because he refused to take marijuana. They warned to kill him if he continues refusing their commands. We nicknamed Joseph Warrior because he is anemic and asthmatic and still could survive the cold street at night. He has been sick on and off after his mom disappeared and whereabouts not know. Neighbors could find him weak lying on the street but he always says I'll overcome it. He sleeps between the iron sheets house. He suffered rejection because of his condition and no one would accept him because they say he is a burden. Warrior is no longer a burden but a child of God at the orphanage. Warren underwent physical assault and rejection. Before he went to survive in the streets. His Sick grandma couldn't go to work and buy for him and his sister food. Warren suffered from rickets and malaria and this made his life difficult in the streets. He used to isolate himself in the streets. Fidel was living with his ailing aged grandma before she passed away last year. His parents also died when he was just 3 years old. He moved to the streets to look for food and drinking water. He could not move far away to go and search for food in the garbage because of his swollen feet. Fidel also complained of pain from the wound in his head. After Maxwell lost both of his parents, he moved to the streets to start his survival. We rescued young Sheril who was staying in the streets with a street mother's friend. Alphonse suffer from Anamea . This caused him rejection and stigma. His ailing grandma couldn't afford drugs and food for him. Lucas was abused continuously physically by someone he thought could live with him after he had lost his parents. He ran to the street to save his life when this man became wild threatening that he could kill him if he couldn't go and sell illicit brew with him. This man would tell him most of the time that he is useless, and he pretends to be sick, yet he was very sick. Booker was living in the streets with his mother that had moved to the street when she was chased away from their home by his violent father who kept on assaulting them physically but later passed away . This evil man didn't care whether he was sick and told him he will kill him to go live with his dead grandpa and his parents. Margaret was born in the street of Soweto slum with a street mother. She lived there with her mom who did not know her father because she was raped and that's how she convinced her pregnancy. Akoth's mom died while still living in the streets with her last year November. We rescued Akoth who was a target of rape by big street kids who were helping her to grab for food in the garbage. Akoth is also not able to walk properly because she was hit by a motorbike in the streets. Her dream is to be a teacher someday. She was rescued 11/09/2023. Fidel Obura suffered from rejection and physical assault from an uncle who was taking care of him after the loss of his parents. He was denied food. Forced to go and sell sweets in the streets. He felt hungry one day and ate sweets and at the same time some bad boys attacked him and stole all the money he had sold. When he came home and narrate the story to the uncle he didn't want to listen to him and boiled hot water to pour on his head to die. He escaped with burns and ran away to nurse the wounds in the streets. Life was very difficult for Fidel in the streets before we rescued him. His dream is to be a doctor someday. Marian was rejected by close relatives after losing her grandmother and mom. She was born with disabilities, and they looked down upon her as an outcast. Marian is not so quick, and she found it hard to grab food in the garbage. Other kids in the street also laughed at her because of her disability and she told us that she was not worth living. She is a neat girl and favorite color is white. She loves the dress we gave her at the orphanage. She has found love at the orphanage. We tell her she is beautiful and wonderfully created by God. Brightone suffered physical abuse and rejection. He was living in the street together with his mom before his mom was arrested and later, died of cholera in jail. He was taken in by someone who pretended to be a good Samaritan but wanted to use him to smuggle marijuana and cocaine. He wanted to give Brightone these drugs to carry for him to evade police officer's arrests. When Brightone refused, he subjected him to physical assault and denied him food. He was living in fear because that evil man wanted to take away his life because he revealed his duty tactics. Brightone is now 400 km away from this evil man and safe. He threatened her not to tell anybody or he would kill her. Wendy moved to the street to save her life but in the street, she was finding it difficult with big boys wanted to rape her. Maxwell was physical abused by his stepfather. He rejected him that he couldn't keep on staying with him after the death of his mother. This man used to tell him that he had only relationship with Maxwell when his mother was alive. He was denied food and told to go and collect used plastic to sell and feed himself. He was thrown out in the cold at 3am. Maxwell decided to go to street. He found it difficult in the street being sick of malaria and cholera. One day he attempted to take of his life by hanging himself with a rope on a tree. The rope was weak and broke. This happened two days before we told him that we are going to rescue him. Godfrey mother died when he was being given birth. She was giving birth on her own in the house and over bleed. Godfrey has been staying with his father until he was arrested and sentenced to death. His father had involved in several rape cases defiling young girls. He used to assult Godfrey by beating him and instilling fear in him not to report what he was doing since the young boy used to see this evil man raping small girls. Ray suffered from physical assault and rejection. He lost his mother and father from AIDS and lived short period with his grandmother before grandma passed away. Ray having physical disabilities couldn't do a cleaning service work to help his uncle. His uncle used to beat him and tell him he was not helping him in anyway. He moved to the street and attempted to take his own life. He was one day found hiding behind the wheels of a track that delivered garbage in Soweto. He wanted the truck to crush him because he thought he was not worth living. Ray went several times without meals before we rescued him in the street. He is safe now. Josephine suffered from forced marriage and physical abuse. After losing both her parents she was forced married to a man who kept her indoors (hostage). She couldn't go out. This man abused her sexually several times. She was only allowed to go outside at night when she is going pour out urine because she used to urinate in a container. He would beat Josephine wherever she cries out and he threatened to kill her. Josephine escaped one day at night when she went to pour out her urine and ended up in the streets. Older boys in the streets also raped her and life was so difficult for her. She is safe and recovering. Her dream is to be a nurse someday. She was rescued 11/09/2023. Danford was living in the street with his mother before the mother went missing. She was later found murdered and dumped by the river bank. It wasn't easy for him to survive in the street without her mother and the street girls who were assisting him wasn't giving him good care. They could leave him without food or water. We rescued him when he was crying and asking for food. He is now safe at the orphanage. His dream is to be a teacher someday. He was rescued 11/09/2023. Mary life became worse after losing both of her grandparents. She was taken in by a neighbor but when the neighbor lost his water vendor job. He told Mary that he couldn't bear the burden of feeding her anymore. The neighbor had also been evicted from his house because of rent arrears. She had no option but to go to the street to look for food and water. Life wasn't easy for her because she is too young to fight for food in the garbage and she is a soft girl. Mary is loved by many kids, and they share clothes she had admired with girls at the orphanage. She is a good singer Her dream is to be a teacher someday. She was rescued 11/09/2023. Barack was abused physically by someone he trusted could protect him after he had lost his parents. He was also denied food. He later decided to move to the street to save his life. Life became so hard for him in the streets. He was constantly sick of malaria and cholera. He found it hard to adapt to street life. Bravine was born in the street by a street mother who was a drug peddler. She engaged in a fight early this year and was stabbed to death. Bravine never liked what his mother was doing, and the mother rejected him before her death. When we met him, he told us that he didn't want the live in the street and wouldn't like to live the way his mom lived. He struggled to get food in the street and hated life in the street. Bravine is a neat boy and is now able to get clean water to bath ,wash clothes and drink clean water. His dream is to be a teacher someday. He was rescued 11/09/2023. NAME: Joan         Female

Joan was taken off the streets of Soweto, Kenya. Joan was born in the street of Soweto slum with a street mother. She lived there with her mom who did not know her father because her mom once said before she passed away that she was drugged and raped and that how she may have convinced her pregnancy. Joan's mom died while still living in the streets with her last year December. We rescued Joan who was a target of rape. Joan also suffered hunger. Her right hand is still in pain that was hit by huge stick from unknown person to her while they were grabbing food in the street. She is recovering at the orphanage and hope to be a soccer player. She also has interest in animals. She will help in caring for our rabbits once she is fully healed.  Her dream is to be a nurse someday. She was rescued 10/22/2022.
