After Odhiambo lost his parents he decided to live with his uncle. He was subjected to child labor and constant beating by his uncle. He was forced to carry water long distance for his uncle gain. He fell down one day and twisted his legs that is when he was chased away because he was told he is a useless kid that couldn't go to carry water for people to be paid money and give his uncle to go and drink alcohol. He ended up in street and big boys in the street wanted to engage him in drugs which he denied several times. He became enemy of these boys because of his love for Christ and refusal to take drugs. When he got to the street, he met boys who wanted to introduce him to stealing and taking drugs like marijuana, alcohol and cocaine. Elvis from childhood loved God and his grandma who passed away last year told him never to involve in drugs. He became an enemy of the big boys in the streets when he refused to go in their direction. Elvis found it hard surviving in the street. He was lonely most of the time and depressed. Emalyne lived with her grandmother from the age of one year until last year when grandma passed away. Her mother died when he was one year old and didn't tell anyone her father since she conceived her in the street . She went to stay with her neighbor who later wanted to turn her to his wife. She was abused both physically and sexually. She was constantly beaten wherever she refused to do what the evil man wanted to do with her at night. She escaped when the man was looking for a knife to stab her. She was a worried girl fearing for her life when we rescued her. She is now safe. Her dream is to be a teacher someday. Joy suffered from physical abuse, child labor and sexual abuse. She was sexually abused by a uncle who had taken her in to stay with her after the loss of her parents. Mavel lost her mom and life was not the same again to her. She suffered silent abuse by her uncle. She was constantly beaten and molested sexually. Ernest underwent child labor and continued physical assault. He was taken in by his late parents neighbor who gave him hard work of carrying 100 litres of water walking one mile away to sell and get money and buy food. He developed back pain . He was once hit by a motorbike that affected his movements and he couldn't no longer carry water. The friend of his parents chased him away when he was sick because he couldn't carry water to sell and help them buy food.He had no option but move to the street. Life was so difficult for him in the street before we rescued him. He had pain on his legs which was hit by a motorbike. He has recovered now and loves being at the orphanage His dream is to be a teacher someday. He was rescued 11/09/2023. Mike underwent physical abuse and child labor. He was being beaten by his step uncle that he lived with. Denied food and forced to go and collect old plastic to sell. When he got sick of Malaria and cholera his uncle chased him out of his home. He believed that Mike was going to infect him with diseases of Malaria, yet Malaria can't be transmitted from one person to another. He used to tell Mike that he didn't want to die early as his parents did and that Mike was a bad omen. Mike decided to move to the street. We found him in the street sick of Malaria. Mike has been treated of Malaria and he is safe at the orphanage. His dream is to be a mechanic someday. He was rescued 11/09/2023. Irine suffered rejection and humiliation after losing her mom. She was raised by a street mother who never knew her father. When the mother passed away the rejection continued by people Irine thought was close to her. She suffered from malnutrition.By the time we were rescuing her she was very weak and sick . She had no place to sleep and was always sleeping daytime missing time to go to grab food in the garbage because at night she told us due to coldness she couldn't sleep. She is safe now. Lavine was born by a street mother who later passed away while living in the street. This left Lavine with no option but to seek help from her uncle. She underwent humiliation and rejection at his uncle's house. They laughed at her that she was not worthy to be born because of her appearance. They denied her food and whenever she gets sick she couldn't get treatment. We rescued Lavine when she was sick of pneumonia and malaria. She is happy at the Orphanage and has been treated of Malaria and Pneumonia. Her dream is to be a nurse someday. She was rescued 11/09/2023. Zachariah lived with his ailing grandpa after his mom just went missing from the street and it's believed maybe she died. When the grandma passed away he went to live with her aunt. They looked down upon him as the cause of the death of grandma because he was called a bad luck kid. The aunt denied him food and he was sick of Malaria most of the time. Joy Chore a name we gave her when we rescued her lost her mom on delivery time. She was then taken by a street friend to her mother who was also living in the street to stay with her. She lived with Joy in the street. The lady was under influence of drugs and didn't give joy a good care. She was sick most of the time and was not being taken to hospital or given drugs. Due to coldness in the street, she developed pneumonia. We rescued Joy when she was sick but now she is feeling better. Her dream is to be a teacher someday. She was rescued 11/09/2023. Rosé lived with grandma after her street mother passed away while living with her in the street. The grandma was always sick and couldn't provide the most basic needs for Rose. She was struggling to get food from the garbage and go and share it with grandma. Later the grandma succumbed to cancer and life worsened for young Rose. Kageha was forced into child labor and suffered from physical abuse before being rescued by Fruit of God Orphanage, she is doing much better and when asked what she wants to do when she grows up, she said she wants to be a doctor. That is huge because, these children had no hopes or dreams before. Although she is doing better, the orphanage is struggling to provide for all the children in their care, which is currently over 60 kids.

Mike was rescued from the streets of Soweto, Kenya. His dream is to grow up and be a pilot.  He is dressing the part already. This sharp dressed young man was homeless and starving when The Fruit of God Orphanage took him in. Although he is doing better, they still struggle to provide for these children. There are stills times when these kids go days with no food.
